CEB is a project that was born in a private typical Alentejo home, which gradually has been opening its doors to the outside world. Being a place of unique beauty and a privileged isolation, CEB has developed its work in a thoughtful way and has been carefully progressive in order to create better conditions for the activities of those who visit us. One of the leading threads of this development is a respect for the environment, as we have tried to create a place that is self-sustainable and as environmentally responsible as possible.

The list of contributors and collaborators has been growing over time, gradually enhancing the space, creating more and better working and living conditions, and strengthening new friendships and cooperations.

For now, CEB has two people who are working full time, choosing activities, as well as guiding and welcoming those who are interested in collaborating with their proposed activities or simply participating

Pedro Castanheira

Pedro stated working and living in Casa da Eira de Baixo about four years ago, from then on he is hooked by its beauty and potential.

Peter has a degree in Sociology at ISCTE, having studied for a year at the School of Bologna Political Sciences and three months in Cape Verde where he completed his thesis which dealt with the relationship between local / national music and globalization (in the local and global music of Cape Verde). He has studied with the Portuguese Musical Youth and the Hot Club School of Jazz in Portugal and has studied with the pianist Teresa Santos, and the composer and guitarist Rui Pedro Dudas.

Peter eventually dedicated his life and profession to music, standing out as a composer and multi-instrumentalist with wide experience and different approaches to music. He composed and played in various groups, addressing mostly compositions and arrangements of his own, such as the solo project, Sr. Castanho, the Almagreira Trio, the quartet Folha (played for the opening of the British Forum for Ethnomusicology in 2010), septet Yemanjazz whose drive was subject to very positive reviews from the press, Falua quartet, among others. He has collaborated with various artists from different artistic expressions like painting, poetry, dance (collaborating with the Mexican dance company Lux Boreal at the opening of Expo Zaragoza 2008), burlesque, new circus, theater and even cooking . Pedro has also developed an intense activity in the creation of soundtracks for documentaries.

Having also explored  compositions with sounds and unconventional instruments such as the concert - Lisbon is an orquestra (where 100 musicians interpreted a composition for 17 church bells, 24 boats, six fire trucks, two trains and 6 trams), or  his - "It´s strictly forbidden to spit on the ground" composition (for 7 electrical trams at the museum Carris in Lisbon). Currently developing an innovative project of "vocal invasion" of cities - City EmCantada.
